The War Against The CIA Continues

In yet ANOTHER reversal of policy by the Obama Administration, Attorney General Holder has announced he will appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the CIA interrogators who used tough interrogation techniques to see which of them will be prosecuted.
In a word: STUPID.
At a time when you would think that Obama would be trying to gain some allies for his policies, he is instead creating more enemies.
This shows an extreme lack of executive leadership experience and will strike another blow to an already wounded presidency.
Holder, and by extension Obama, have decided that one of the most important things they can do at this moment in time is declare open war on the CIA.
Brilliant. Nevermind the fact that we now know that the deficit will be an additional 2 Trillion for the next 10 years, the job situation grows worse every month and the American People are in an almost full rebellion against it's government. Apparently, none of that matters.
This whole attack on the CIA is dangerous because it's political in nature. The Obama Administration is doing this primarily so they can distract the American People from the REALLY bad news of the economy and the fact that their "stimulus" isn't working.
In the meantime, this action, even if it doesn't culminate in prosecutions, will have a devastating effect upon the intelligence community in this country.
This will cause a ripple effect that will spread far and wide throughout our wall of protection.
Many of these CIA Agents are selfless people who put their country before their own lives and ask little in return except for the gratitude of the nation and cover for them to do their job.
Let's not forget that we have been SAFE for 8 years now. It's not that there haven't been any attacks planned, they've just been thwarted.
That doesn't happen by coincidence folks. It take months and sometimes years of hard work in dangerous places upon this globe to gather that kind of information. Be glad you DON'T do it but someone has to.
All they ask for is protection so they can get their job done so that WE can all live in peace.
Instead, Obama plans to parade them before the Congress and embarras them publicly. How proud he'll be on that day.
We know for a fact that these interrogators DID gather actionable intelligence that SAVED LIVES. That's indisputable.
According to the Inspector General's investigation nearly 50% of all intelligence gathered that was deemed to be "good" intelligence came from the enhanced interrogations.
Most of which came from KSM himself: KSM, Khalid Shayk Muhammad , the architect of 9/11, “provided information that helped lead to the arrests of terrorists including Sayfullah Paracha and his son Uzair Paracha, businessmen whom Khalid Shayk Muhammad planned to use to smuggle explosives into the United States; Saleh Almari, a sleeper operative in New York; and Majid Khan, an operative who could enter the United States easily and was tasked to research attacks (part redacted). Khalid Shauk Muhammad’s information also led to the investigation and prosecution of Iyman Faris, a truck driver arrested in early 2003 in Ohio.” (Page 87 of the report).
In addition, the IG report (which was given to the Justice Department when it was written five years ago) alleges a number of abuses of detainees including “mock executions” and threats to relatives of the prisoners.
However, according to an August 19, 2009 letter signed by Sen. Kit Bond, ranking Republican on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and eight other Republicans, “Three former Attorneys General and numerous career prosecutors have examined the findings of that report and other evidence and determined that the facts do not support criminal prosecution.”
I think Senator Kit Bond's statement summed it up rather well: “First the White House usurps control over terrorist interrogations, signaling to the world they have lost confidence in Leon Panetta and our intelligence community, and now the Obama Justice Department launches a witch-hunt targeting the terror-fighters who have kept us safe since 9-11. With a criminal investigation hanging over the Agency’s head, every CIA terror fighter will be in CYA mode. With things heating up in Afghanistan and Iraq, this looking back and unwarranted "redo" of prior Justice Department decisions couldn’t come at a worse time for the safety of our troops in harm’s way and our nation.”
Reportedly, this has so angered CIA Director Leon Panetta, a VERY partisan Democrat from the Clinton Administration, that Holder's announcement of a federal prosecutor was prededed by what ABC News reported as a “profanity-laced screaming match” at the White House where Panetta may have threatened to quit.
They just keep piling up for Obama and he still hasn't learned anything. Soon, though he will realize that The White House can be a very lonely place when there are no allies outside of those pristine doors to watch your back.
As Autumn winds begin to blow their familiar , crisp air into the DC area as an omen of the coming Winter, Obama may soon find out how cold Washington can really be.

Hell hath no fury....

So, the race for the Democratic Nomination is over. Barak Obama has received the majority of the pledged delegates. It would appear that Hillary's historic run for The Presidency is over. Or is it? As someone who has read and studied quite a bit about The Clinton's I'm not so sure this thing is settled. Sure, Barak has claimed the "presumptive" nomination and as of yesterday Hillary endorsed him, although half-heartedly, but I know these people and I'm not buying it. First, what good does it do for Hillary to endorse him and "work my hardest" to get him elected? Nothing! This party belongs to The Clinton's and they are not apt to just give it up so easily. They realize that if Barak Obama becomes President then the "Clinton Era" is over. They will be relegated to the dustbin of history forevermore and their power will be minute. If there is one thing that I have come to learn about The Clinton's it's this: they crave power. They NEED it like a junkie needs a "fix". These people don't do anything or say anything unless it has been tested somewhere and "focus grouped". Without Hillary as President they will be minimized within the Democratic Party and that is just something they can't live with. So, what then is the endgame here? I have been thinking about this for a while and I think I have come up with some plausible strategies.

The VP: Hillary is going to be a strong candidate for the VP slot after winning as many delegates as she did and the popular vote. If it's one thing the Dem's love to champion it's the popular vote. Don't get me wrong though; I don't think she WANTS the VP slot but she will lobby for it. She has put Barak Obama in a tough place here. If he picks her she will be a thorn in his side for the duration of his presidency. If she doesn't then she will be outraged as well as her supporters and that could cost him the election. This position also allows her to sabotage his campaign while all the while appearing to be fighting to get him elected. There are MANY skeletons in her closet and Bill's and they might be willing to open the closet to give us all a peek i the hopes that the scandal would torpedo Obama. Don't think they won't do it.

Senate Majority Leader: Hillary is now going to be very popular in the Senate. With Ted Kennedy fighting for his life she will recognize her opportunity to ascend to the throne of leadership in the Senate and will in effect have MORE power than The President himself. If Obama is elected then she will relish the fact that she can (and will) thwart any legislation that she does not approve of and also push through any legislation that SHE wants. She will also relish the fact that as the most powerful senator, Obama will have to reach out to her to get anything done. This could be once again cause for major agony in The White House.

Supreme Court Justice: This could very well be the one area that Hillary could do the MOST damage if given the chance. She would see this position as the culmination of a life spent "fighting for the little guy". Even though she probably doesn't know any personally. She could wreak havoc with such issues as gay marriage, abortion, first amendment issues just to name a few. This would satisfy her though since she would never again have to run for office due to the life term of the Justices. However, I'm not sure this would be public enough for her. Hillary likes the media and the attention and she feeds off of it. Her and bill like to play the "rockstar" in America and they love to be in the limelight. Although this position would allow her to accomplish many things that she could not do in the Senate, I just don't see her accepting this with much enthusiasm.

So there you have it. I don't really believe that there are any other posts within the government that Hillary would accept without much protest. She is NOT Secretary of State material and she would not want to be part of the Obama Cabinet. Make no mistake, this is NOT over yet. you can be sure that she has her minions scouring the trash bins and closets in every nook and cranny in America looking for some garbage that she can hang on Obama. so far though he seems impervious and the media could care less. They have their man. I would just caution the Obama's about one thing: those that lock horns with The Clinton's have a tendency to regret it. Actually, they have a tendency to have "accidents" and wind up dead. Remember Vince Foster and Ron Brown? Obama better keep one eye on what he is doing and the other on what The Clinton's are doing because they WILL find a way to stop this train. When and where remains to be seen but the signpost ahead reads: Danger Ahead! That's good advice Mr Obama, very good advice.

Shameful Ambassadors

There is a new trend in the world and one that I find quite alarming and shameful. That is this new phenomenon of former US Presidents as "good will" ambassadors. Now I understand that they are important public figures and they should serve a purpose in the ongoing dialogue of our country. However, what I DO NOT agree with is when they take it upon themselves to visit other countries and feel the need to talk openly and critically about the United States. I'm talking about Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton here. Both were undoubtedly two of the worse candidates to ever inhabit The White House in recent memory and yet they are the two that can't help criticizing our country whenever they travel abroad. With Carter's administration you had the gas shortage of the 70's (which I remember) and then the hostage crisis in Iran that publicly humiliated the United States on the world stage. With Slick Willy you had an ongoing parade of scandal after scandal after scandal. Heck, people got so tired of all the scandal's that they even coined a phrase that is used today: Clinton Fatigue. After a while you could not keep up with all of the seedy, dirty, information that was coming to light and it was better to just stop listening. I STILL have Clinton Fatigue and it's been almost 8 years since he left office!! So given that these two "stellar role models" were such disaster's as Presidents what makes them think that they even have the authority to travel abroad and speak on official topics of interest? The truth of the matter is this: once a President, always a President. For better or worse (worse in this case) they keep that title for life. Now I am actually OK with that since they earned it and it IS the highest political office in our country. However, I think that just like MOST former Presidents (Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George Bush, etc) they should remove themselves from policy matters and let the new administration do it's job. Instead these two take every opportunity to travel the world and give speeches (which they get paid very well for I might add) and find it necessary to criticize what the new President and his people are trying to get accomplished at every turn. Do they not realize that when they go and break bread with our enemy (Carter and Hamas) that they are giving a confusing message to the world? They are in effect telling other countries, some of which are enemies of ours, that we are not a united nation but a divided nation. And as the old adage goes "a house divided cannot stand". When they criticize our country and it's leaders abroad all they do is give fodder to the causes of our enemies. Now more than ever we need to be united in our resolve against these Islamic extremists. We need to portray a united, strong, impenetrable front. Otherwise they will perceive that we are divided and weak and that will motivate them to fight harder. Sadly, most of these speeches put down America and levy harsh criticisms toward our country rather than exhibiting to the world that we are still the "beacon of freedom" that all should strive to be. In the name of partisan politics and self-serving glory and accolades these "shameful ambassadors" spread dissent and sow discord in every climb and place and then act incredulous when the world hates us more and more every day. If I didn't know any better I would think that their true mission is to once and for all extinguish this "beacon of light" and replace it with something quite different. Lady Liberty is still standing in NY Harbor with her head held high and she still beckons those that seek freedom....but for how long? For once they should put aside their divisive politics and act as Americans again. They have proven they have the power to lead and for better or for worse people have followed. Let's hope they lead in the right direction and heal this divided land....before it's too late.
